Access Tech: Does your company use Microsoft Teams?

Announced on April 1st, Microsoft Teams will no longer be included with Microsoft 365 Enterprise and Office 365 Enterprise licensing.

As per an email sent to Access Tech, the following changes are effective immediately:

 For New Customers

  • Microsoft 365 Enterprise and Office 365 Enterprise will now be available as a “No Teams” license for new customers. This license will not include web conferencing, collaboration, or calling functionality. This change is effective immediately.
  • Microsoft 365 Business and Frontline Worker (F1, F3) will be available both with Teams and as a “No Teams” license.
  • Microsoft Teams will be available via a separate enterprise—license to add to any Microsoft 365 Enterprise or Office 365 Enterprise license.

New customers who want to use Microsoft 365 Enterprise and Office 365 Enterprise must purchase the “No Teams” licensing and add Teams Enterprise. This add on ranges from $7 to $40 per user per month dependent on what Teams you need.

For Existing Customers

For our existing customers currently using licenses that includes Teams, we have good news.

  • Existing customers are unaffected by these changes.
  • Existing customers can continue using and renewing this licensing and even adding users.
