Access Tech: Do you ride public transit?

Yamhill County Transit (YCT) presents ReMARKable Rider Day where riders and transit advocates are thanked for their continuous support.

Monday, August 7, 2023, was the 6th annual ReMARKable Rider Day. This annual event is named after Mark Schiffmacher, a transit advocate who served on YCT’s Special Transportation Advisory Committee and was dedicated to improving bus service for all. The event showcased the service and people that make Yamhill County Transit world class.

President of Access Tech, Trey Lackey had the privilege of joining YTC for this important event as a supporter of accessible, public transportation.

Trey arrived early and met with Transit Manager Cynthia Thompson where she was commandeering a booth that had YCT hats, shirts and umbrellas and information about the “Remarkable Quest” that gave folks the opportunity to ride the bus for free while scouting out murals, statues, and points of interest along the route through McMinnville.

Tonya Manley, Grants Management Analyst, and Chloe Manley, Interim Transit Coordinator, were on hand to greet and talk with visitors. The “ReMARKable Quest” prizes were given to the riders that were able to find everything on the map. No worries, you are still able to participate as entries are due Monday, August 14, 2023 by 5:00pm.

Trey was also able to meet and talk with Portland-based artist, M’Lynn Suwinski, who was also showing her support by painting a mural at the event.
