Comcast is changing their Internet speed tier format again, and this time it’s in everyone’s best interest. Are you among the many business customers in their West Division that currently subscribe to the 25M/5M Starter Speed Tier coax Internet package? If so, great news! The newest Comcast changes include upgrading your download speed to 35M/5M. This is a bump that should have occurred automatically and became effective 12/10/19.
However, there are a few other changes that will affect you as well. The monthly fee of $16.95 for your Comcast internet equipment is increasing to $18.45. If you have the 75M, 150M, or 500M speed tier, these speeds are being grandfathered in and will no longer be available unless already in place.
Additionally, the entire format for Comcast’s speed tiers has changed. It now looks like this: 35M/5M; 100M/15M; 200M/20M; 300M/30M; 600M/35M; 1G/35M. We have seen changes like this before with Comcast, and it is good to see that they are consolidating their offerings in a mostly positive fashion.
