“Microsoft recently announced new collaboration features and employee experiences for SharePoint, the web-based collaborative platform that integrates with Microsoft Office. The company unveiled SharePoint home sites, a quick-to-deploy intranet offering that delivers personalized content and organizational news and drives employee engagement and communications through Yammer and Stream, its enterprise video service. With Microsoft Search, home sites provides an integrated, enterprise-wide experience to search content – including files, contacts, conversations, locations, tools and answers to common questions. The company also announced that SharePoint admins can add any of the third-party applications available on Teams to any SharePoint site. Other announcements included expanded capabilities for Stream that allow users to securely record, upload and share videos from the Stream mobile app and a new Q&A feature in Yammer that provides intelligent, bot-like responses to questions.”
“The introduction of SharePoint home sites is a major update that enables organizations to offer an integrated employee experience with shared content and connections across the organization, driving employee engagement and collaboration. This is consistent with key market trends that are redefining the role that the intranet plays as a catalyst for digital transformation, as well as the growing relevance that encompassing all workers – including frontline employees – has for workforce communications.”
